Challenge

The 9th Annual Holiday Light Show is known to most Austinites yet perhaps not to new arrivals. Mozart’s aim was to increase traffic and garner media coverage via TV, social media and the local press – digital and print, while creating an ongoing buzz throughout the duration of the event.

Solution

Crafted a series of 8 themed messages released over an eight week period. Tied messaging to live activations on-site. Encouraged customers to participate in social media photo contests and share with friends. Publicized Mozart’s affiliation with Austin’s musicians, the local business and residential community and guests from abroad.

Result

Surpassed Mozart’s goals. Our media strategy resulted in over 25 media outlets who covered the event. Social media participation reached record highs with over 1 million views, and attendance on-site exceeded all previous years, with an overwhelming half a million visitors.
